We don’t just find it sad that by the age of 6, girls feel that they are inferior to boys, we are doing something about it by working with primary and secondary schools across the UK to support teachers, parents and students. We have designed a facilitated session that helps groups of children identify the issue in a collaborative and fun way and think about ways in which they can work, play and socialise with each other to try and mitigate the perception girls have of themselves. Sessions have been designed for teachers and parents to think about language used, stereotypes drawn and other ways in which we can counteract this issue. We are developing a piece of research in this area as part of the voluntary work we are doing.
