Darla, a native of Cambridge, Massachusetts and first-generation college graduate, earned an undergraduate degree in business from Emmanuel College and a graduate degree from Simmons University School of Management. Her career spans nearly two decades with a strong emphasis on helping companies to build diverse talent pipelines while driving more inclusive work cultures.
Darla has been instrumental in executing global talent acquisition strategies, and directing the development and implementation of human capital solutions. She has a proven track record of building strategic recruitment partnerships, successfully launching employee resource groups, and facilitating diversity and inclusion professional development workshops. She has held positions and consulted with notable organizations including: Akamai Technologies, City Year, Inc., Lupoli Companies, National Black MBA Association, Reebok Global Headquarters, Legacy Global Sports, US Department of Education and Year Up, Inc.
In 2020, Darla joined the leadership team at In Diverse Company as SVP, Head of Client Partnerships – US. In her new role, she will consult with clients on DEI best practices and help drive the partnership strategy for the US market. She also serves as Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Strategist for DeGrace Group Consulting LLC, a thriving DEI search/staffing and consulting firm she launched in 2017. DeGrace Group clients span multiple sectors including government agencies, corporate and national non-profit clients – all with a shared goal of diversifying their workforce, and developing and retaining their greatest assets.
Darla is the President Emeritus and Executive Board Member for the National Black MBA Association-Boston, Co-Chairs The BASE Women’s Leadership Council, is a Member of the Board of Trustees for The Boys and Girls Clubs and recent GLAD Board Member (2017-2019). She was appointed by Governor Charlie Baker to serve as Commissioner on both the Black Advisory and the Plymouth 400 Commissions.
In her spare time, you can find Darla enjoying motherhood and investing in the revitalization of urban communities through her new start up, Lincoln Way Projects, LLC.
